The Moscow Kremlin
which is by right called the major attraction of the
capital used to be the residence of the royal power and
the center of Russian Orthodoxy. Nowadays it is the
official residence of President the Grand Kremlin palace
housing the presidential apartments and the Kremlin
Senate being the working place of the Russian Head of
the state. The golden-dome cathedrals and white-stone
churches occupy a special place among the historical
monuments of the Kremlin being both masterpieces of
ancient architecture as well as museums bearing ancient
Russian painting and decorative and applied arts.
